Why Health Services Management?
Growing up in a low-income and rural community, I saw firsthand how limited access to care and system inefficiencies impact vulnerable populations. I initially pursued nursing, as I wanted to make a direct impact on patients. However, I realized that many of the barriers that underserved communities face stem from flaws within healthcare systems, operations, and quality standards. I chose Health Services Management because it allows me to address these challenges at a broader level. By improving systems behind the scenes, I aim to make healthcare more meaningful and impactful for all.

Currently a senior Health Services Management student at Fairbanks School of Public Health, I have a strong interest for quality assurance and sales within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. My passion for operational excellence has continued developing at my current internship in biomedical research at Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center, where I have gained experience in research processes, regulatory standards, and the importance of precision within medical innovation.
I am committed to strengthening the systems that improve patient outcomes and advance the public’s health. I aspire to contribute to organizations that prioritize efficiency, safety, and evidence-based improvements within healthcare.
