H320: Health Systems Administration
Personal Development Journal
This artifact is the personal development journal I created for the course H320 - Health Systems Administration. This presentation goes into depth on what roles leaders play in healthcare and how my personal professional journey aligns with the skillset these leaders need.
What I learned
This presentation was very impactful when it came to learning more about the role that leaders play within the healthcare space. In this assignment, I had to analyze different committees and their roles within hospitals, as well as how leadership can drastically impact the performance of the staff and operations in hospitals. I focused heavily on inclusive communication and how that can improve the culture of a healthcare facility. I proposed implementing integrated training on inclusive communication to limit the amount of injustices and disparities that come from ineffective communication, which has shown to improve these issues. My professionalism journey continues to be a priority of mine, as it focuses on empathy, learning, collaboration, responsibility, and commitment. In my professional future, I will continue to prioritize these takeaways to be an effective leader.
