Learning Objectives and Outcomes
During my time at Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center, I was expected to assist coordinators with their various studies in whatever ways they felt fit. Most of my time in this role was spent doing data entry for medication lists, as well as organizing spreadsheets to ensure coordinators were aware of when their patients would be coming in for appointments to follow up with them. Additionally, I was expected to reach out to patients to ensure they were aware of their upcoming appointments via text. I was given the opportunity to create a spreadsheet shell for one of the coordinator's upcoming studies, which gave me a chance to showcase skills I hadn't yet had the opportunity to utilize. The learning objectives were centered around gaining experience in a clinical setting involving patient interaction, as well as forming a better understanding of what clinical trials involved and how they were executed. During my internship, I was able to execute all of my responsibilities and accomplish all of the learning objectives.
